South Tyrol is the ideal tourist destination for your summer and winter family holidays in Italy. If children can’t stand the excessive heat, you can book your South Tyrol holidays in Valle Aurina with your family. An attraction is the  Museo delle Miniere (German: Südtiroler Bergbaumuseum) in Predoi (German: Brettau), where the constant temperature is between 7  and 8 degrees. Visiting this copper mine will be a thrilling event for the whole family; the visit will take place on a train, equipped with a helm. Another protective element will be a raincoat because of the rocks humidity. The mine history illustrates every extraction stage, from the mining till the copper forging; the copper proved to be the best in Europe; people from all over Europe came here to work in the mine. The extraction activity went on till the end of the XIX century, when the mine was closed. The mountain resorts in the immediate surroundings in Val Pusteria are: Brunico (German: Bruneck, Ladin Bornech), Valdaora (German: Olang), Anterselva (German: Antholz). By the Gardena Pass (Italian: Passo Gardena, German Grödnerpass, Ladin Jeuf de Frea)  you will find San Vigilio di Marebbe (German: Sankt Vigil in Enneberg, Ladin Mareo) and in Alta Badia (German: Hochabtei), Corvara (German: Kurfar), Colfosco (German: Kolfuschg) and Pedraces (German: Pedratsches). Beyond the Gardena Pass you can visit Val Gardena (German: Grödental, Ladin Gherdeina) with Selva di Val Gardena (German: Wolkenstein, Ladin Selva), Santa Cristina (German: Sankt Christina, Ladin Santa Crëstina) and Ortisei (German: Sankt Ulrich in Gröden, Ladin Urtijei). All these mountain resorts are very popular in winter and in summer.
